  1. oh, you are so sweet and feminine! you look very young, how is it possible to have 2 children of such ages??? i hope your depression is gone. is it, or at least is there some anxiety only?

    1. Thank you SO much Cristina your comment literally made my year! I had my daughter when I was just 20, I was so happy to be a mum.
Thank you, I am so so much better now, I still have odd bad days, but I'm winning at the moment, as for the anxiety, I think it's pretty much in my nature but it is improving.
      love Jooles x x x

  2. Hi lovely Jooles! So nice to see your podcast- you come across as a sweet, gentle-natured lady which is just how I imagined you from your blog. I agree with Cristina- you look so young!! I'm glad you are feeling better & I think sock knitting is very therapeutic- I have created quite a collection of my own. Thanks for showing us more lovely things :) x

  3. You are just a sweet as I imagined you would be! Well done on your lovely podcast dear Jooles. Everything you make is perfectly lovely and you are knitting the prettiest socks!

  4. I watched your podcast and thought it was fantastic. You did a great job. I want to see your Smitten blocks next time. That is actually how I found you on IG when I became drawn to the Smitten quilt it was your blocks that inspired me. I also love Liberty of London, but it is quite expensive in the States so I bought a Moda line and will use your blocks as inspiration. I'm so glad you are feeling better and back to share your lovely designs. I have to say that this was my first time to watch a podcast, so thank you! I've watched many tutorials and the Quilt Show, but nothing so personal. I appreciate that you can share your struggles. I'm sure you've helped others by doing so. Lastly, this Texas girl loves your accent!!!

  5. Well done, it was a lovely podcast and you showed some really nice things. Your socks are lovely, 12 pairs is very impressive and they are all gorgeous. Your quilt is going to be pretty amazing I think. It was good to see you and you are very natural and friendly.

Podcasting is a brave thing to do by any stretch of the imagination and you did a brilliant job. I really enjoyed it. I loved seeing all the pretty things and to be honest it is nice to get away from just knitting which most podcasters tend to have a lot of. I knit as much as I do other things but I seem to enjoy hearing about it the least. I think it is partly because many knitters use quite sombre colours. I'm not sure really.

My favourite podcast is Cherry heart's as she has a wry sense of humour and her crochet is just by far the nicest anywhere. Sometimes I find the knitting ones a little bit less interesting as the fo's are often not to my taste and somehow they are less fun to watch. I have been enjoying Crafternoon treats podcast which I find really very interesting, as well as The Bakery Bears which is funny, also Betsy makes has just started too and makes lovely things. I also really love Fluffy Fibers, as she sews beautiful dresses, is a skilled knitter and really lovely. The knitting one that I do really enjoy is Legacy knitz.

I look forward to seeing you again soon.

  6. I am new to your blog as I found you through Instagram but I loved the podcast! By the way I thought you were super calm! Xx

  7. Como eu amo seu blog e amo mais ainda seus trabalhos.
Tenho você como fonte de inspiração sem falar oque você é jovem e muito bonita.
E transmite uma sensação de paz muito boa bjs.

  8. Oh, you lovely lady. Your podcast was excellent; I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it very relaxing, just like being with a friend. All your crafty makes are gorgeous and I'm very impressed with your socks - I'm just on my second pair and it's by no means second nature to me yet! All credit to you for knitting your way out of a dark place. I look forward to many more of your podcasts. xx

  9. I really enjoyed your first podcast and sincerely hope it is the first of many. I have followed and enjoyed your blog but it is so nice to see and hear you and i can tell you are such a sweet lady. 20. Dear Jooles, it's wonderful to have you back! I'm glad you're feeling better; you were in my thoughts & prayers. I've experienced those dark, lonely times too and it's funny but I also found knitting (and making in general) very therapeutic. Anyway, I've made several dish cloths, baby blankets and even a couple of little hats but socks are on my list as "The Next Big Thing." You are wonderfully encouraging. Thank you! 30. Hi Jooles!
I discovered you via Molly from her "A homespun House" instagram feed. Let me tell you that I fell in love with everything you do. It is so so so my cup of tea. I also love liberty like crazy and I think we have pretty much the same tastes in color and fabrics choices. Anyway, this first episode is very lovely and I can't wait to watching your next one. Thank you for this lovely moment spent with you (you have a very sweet and pleasant voice) and you didn't seem to be stressed at all.
    Big frenchy hugs!

  31. Beautiful sock color! I'm going to go find my earbuds so I can listen to your first podcast.

  32. Thoroughly enjoyed your podcast.

  33. Hi Jooles,
I haven't even finished with the first episode but I had to tell you already that how brave you are for admitting the story about being in a dark place. I am currently in one and sewing doll clothes is your making socks. Thank you for sharing that, you make me feel like I am not alone.

  34. I loved your podcast! Your snowdrop mug is very cute. Who did you say its by/where to get it? I didn't catch the name.

  35. Hello Jooles

I have just typed a looong comment and pressed the wrong button! It disappeared. I will try again.

I have just watched my first ever podcast - yours! I LOVE it! Well done you, an amazing achievement. I found you today through Pink Milk, which I have been following for a few months.

I started Knitting socks a few years ago, as a small project with a new challenge I could focus on, when in a dark and unhappy depression. All my family and friends received a pair. I went on to crochet a number of blankets and knit many garments, but keep coming back to socks. I think it is the yarn colours and textures that captivate. This time I am planning to fill a drawer, for me.

You are a beautiful lady, inside and out, who makes gorgeous, pretty things. I wish you calm, peace and happiness. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and make sure they are wearing your pretty socks!

Thank you for sharing yourself xx
