Bedside Posy :: May

Oh how I LOVE a bedside posy

Really REALLY love them
and these lily-of-the-valley smell absolutely wondrous

It's a treat to wake up to such prettiness
then drift off to sleep with a beautiful wafting fragrance
somehow it feels so decedent .....
it's almost mystery
how those few little blooms can bring so much happiness

Little blooms from the garden or wild flowers from the hedgerows
costing nothing ..... not a single penny
but they radiate SO much joy

I have decided to make this a ritual
a little treat to myself
every month (at least) I'll make a posy to place beside my bed
and of course I'll share them with you too

So this is my posy for May

Perhaps you'd like to join in?
Shall we play?

We could share our posies
share the bedside posy love

If you'd like to play along please be sure to send me the link to your post
that way we can enjoy each other posies

Back soon .....

BIG love
x Jooles x

  2. Gorgeous! Did you grow the lily of the valley or buy it? My sister had it in her wedding bouquet so it always reminds me of her.

I'm ashamed to say I would have too remove a large amount of clutter & dust from my bedside table to make room for a posy!!

    1. I'm lucky enough to have it growing bonkers in my garden! it stared off as just a few sprigs given to me by my mum a couple of years ago.
It must have been absolutely wonderful in a wedding bouquet.

  3. Oh how beautiful Jooles. I do love lily of the valley. I'd love to grow some in my garden, and every year mean too, but somehow, it never happens.

Just like wilfing mum, i'd have to remove a huge amount of clutter from my bedside table. It's full of lego and transformers today!

Have a lovely sunshiny day today!

  7. I love your sweet lily of the valley posy, Jooles, it is just perfect! My sister gave me some lily of the valley plants from her garden a few years ago and now they have settled in happily and self seeded in the gravel path nearby (I let them stay!)
Love your wallpaper too, I have some pillowcases to match it!
    Have a happy weekend!

  11. A beautiful posy. I do love flowers in the bedroom, but seldom get to putting them there. Lilies of the valley are so pretty.

  12. So pretty. My bouquets usually land on the dining room table or the kitchen window sill. I don't think I've ever bothered to put flowers beside my bed. It's a nice idea. Like some of your other commenters, I have to start by tidying the clutter on my bedside table. Now THAT would bring some joy.
    Happy weekend to you Jooles.

  14. That's such a beautiful bunch of Lily of the Valley. I can't believe you were able to find it in the garden or locally. It always reminds me of my grandma - she was called Lily and was from the South Wales valleys. When she died we put a sprig in her coffin and had some put into the funeral flowers. It's such a delicate bloom with such a lovely scent. Enjoy! x

  16. Hi Jooles, I love your flowers and vase. Lily of the valley is one of my Fave. flowers. We had them growing in my childhood home garden. There are 3 patches near my current home. (I don't think it is too hard to grow.)Thanks for this spring posy post. Happy weekend.

  20. This is a lovely idea. A posy by the bed always feels extra decadent and special, I think. And a sweet way to mark the seasons and changes in the garden too. Xx
