Cake pop?

go on .... after all its Friday and you deserve one

It has been a tough week .....

we took Sweet B back to uni on Tuesday evening

the day that I had been dreading

I miss her SO much, we all do

where did that four months go?
my heart is too heavy

I cried on the way home, not the whole journey like last year though

so it is getting easier …. A bit.

She was not keen on going back and is homesick

BUT

She WILL be fine, she has lots of lovely friends there

and she NEEDS to fill that HUGE brain of hers

for a beautiful little thing she has a brain the size of a planet

I will be fine too ..... in a while .....

Before she left she made these gorgeous cake pops

These ones were wrapped up for her friend's birthday

They were delish and almost too pretty to eat

the recipe was from here

To soothe my soul I have been baking

Blackberry and marzipan muffins

I used my usual recipe ..... you can find it on the sidebar

I just switched the raspberries for blackberries

Yum.

Sewing also soothes my soul

I have a commission from a very lovely lady to make two HUGE advent calendars

and another order for LOTS of pretty Christmas bunting

in these pretty Tilda fabrics

Oh I do love her “Christmas house” collection

It is my all-time favourite for Christmas time, in fact anytime.

  In fact that is what I should be doing right now
 so I had better say "cheerio"

and get sewing

I need to keep myself busy


It is craft club guild tomorrow evening
I can't wait to see my crafty friends
I know that will cheer me up

Hola!

 Happy weekend to you!

At the beginning of this month, September

we all headed of to Gran Canaria for a week of sunshine and relaxation

a chance to re-charge our batteries

Mr Sweet and I feel that we are lucky that our teens
who are now 18 and 20 (just realised she is not even a teen anynmore :o( 
 still want to holiday with us

others may not agree

but we LOVE it

these family holidays feel precious
who knows how many more we will fit in
probably not many
:o(

One day we went out on a pedalo

and swam in the DEEP sea
(that's me in the middle, if you were wondering, with Sweet B to the left
 and My odd job (formally known as lovely G on here, I will tell the story of the name change next time) to the right)

I found it a little scary
I tried not to think about what may be lurking beneath
probably only sweet little fish
I do have a vivid imagination when I'm scared

We had cocktails ..... they were VERY nice

Sweet B made me promise to have lots of photos taken
I usually try to dodge the camera

This is me and Sweet B snorkellling ..... the fish were SO pretty

I set myself a little holiday challenge:

cake for breakfast

ice-cream for lunch

and

sangria for tea

EVERY DAY

I may not have done it in the specified order

(although, hand on heart, sangria did not pass my lips with breakfast)

but, and I am very happy to report that I achieved it

one day I managed THREE cakes!

that, my friends, takes some doing.

I took lots of crafty things to keep me occupied

but hardly did a thing

I was far too busy being lazy

To be honest I am not really that keen the heat

actually, that is a slight understatement

I get rashy and sweaty and lethargic ….. bleh

I can usually be found in shady corners under my straw hat
when the temperature rises

 I use my built-in shade radar to locate said corners

sadly though I am outnumbered
my lot love it

when we arrived home I was one big heat rash

Its has almost gone now.

On a completely different note

I wanted to point out my pinterest tab

I know it has been 'the big thing' for a while now
I have been trying hard to resist 
it was never going to happen

I do LOVE it ..... so much inspiration
but OMG! it is a HUGE time eater
