Well it is FINALLY the last day of January
(thank the lord!)

and as I mentioned before 

I have decided to post about the things I make each month

not shop makes though

but gifts and things that I make for myself and our home

at the end of each month I will do a little 

'show and tell'

I am hoping posting here will keep me focused

Here are my makes for January

This little one got a new dress

She is a gift for my gorgeous little niece who will be four soon 

A pair of muffatees...I was originally calling these 'handwarmers'

but then came across this wonderful post from annie over at knitsofacto

where she called them 'muffatees'

I felt so happy....what a fabulous word..... 'MUFFATEES'

I had NEVER heard them called that before

am I the only one? did everyone else call them muffatees?

anyway...thank you Annie x

These will be a gift too

but I cannot say who for

(blogs have ears and all that!)

and as I have mentioned before

 here is a gift that I have made for my best friend
It's a case for her glases
I hope she likes it

Well I shouldn't be sitting here blogging, I SHOULD be sewing

I have a couple of bunting custom orders to make

A list of things to do

A little list to keep me focused

If I write it here, on my blog

I HAVE to complete it...right?

well that's what I am hoping anyway

To do

 These are actually projects started a while back that need finishing

 ♥  Puppers needs a dress 

shouldn't take too long

this pattern is from issue 2 of Mollie makes

I have a LOT to do on this

it has been such a long time since I last picked it up

I just hope I can remember how to do it

I am so in l♥ve with the colours

♥  Jolly red christmas stocking tapestry 

this has been on the frame.....a while!

this one is for my sweet B

lovely G's is finished

they will both need sewing up too

these were started way back in the summer 

when I was laid up with a bad back

I needed a project that could be made whilst I was horizontal

a very bad time

Now for my challenges for 2012

♥  Learn to quilt  ♥

I was a very lucky girl on my birthday last year

my lovely craft group got together and bought me a voucher from here

Ooooh ..... how delightful

I knew exactly what I wanted to buy with it

a jelly roll

there is something so tempting about them

like pick and mix sweeties

I am hoping that by then end of the year

(I'm giving myself plenty of time!)

I should will have a beautiful quilt

♥  A make a month  ♥

I decided upon this idea at Christmas time

after a mad panic to get gifts made

I left everything far too late... stressful.

Recently I have seen some 'blog challenges' 

(I think thats what they are called, I may have just made that up!)

that encourage the same idea.

although I have decided not to join one of these groups 

as I think it will just put pressure on me

I will challenge myself to make at least one gift each month

weather it will be for a birthday or Christmas 

A gift will be made

I have already made a good start

a special gift for my bestie is on it's way to her

it has a loooooong journey, all the way to Australia.

I can't show you until after her birthday in February

but I promise I will blog about it when I can

I have also started these hand warmers

I have an idea who might like them but of course it has to be top secret

I am knitting them in gorgeous alpaca yarn

bought for socks that didn't go well...

....unless you had tiny fairies feet that is!

anyway I thought it perfect for these

This is exciting and now that I have posted about it 

I feel super motivated

I shall post my makes at the end of each month

Well I am feeling a little behind...

...you see this is a post about Christmas gifts

A-hem...well better late than never

wouldn't you say?

I wanted to share with you what a very lucky mum

(ME)

received for Christmas from her lovelies

First up from my Sweet B: 

she is a poor poor student! 

 but she was so clever and sweet

A map which is actually wrapping paper
and look how it matches my fairy lights and paper bunting
just genius

Some cute little birdie stickers
to stick on my map
so that I can document where my little Peckers and friends fly to
clever huh?

Oh and some scrummy chocs
from here
which had vanished without trace by boxing day evening
:o)

From my lovely G:
He got these with his hard earned wages and for the first time, choose them himself
that makes them so special to me

the words on this mug say it all

and a tin for my knitting needles

They are all such thoughtful gifts
I am a lucky mum for sure

Filling tummies and shelves

Sweet B is back at uni

(boo...hoo)

 We took her last night

after a wonderful three weeks 

Feeling 'empty' today

but this term will be great for her...I just know it

My Oh My ~ that lovely girl of mine does NOT travel lightly!

let's just say she likes her creature comforts

possibly like her mum!

the car was packed to the rafters

We sent her back with a big stock of 

frozen homemade 'ready meals'

they will keep her going whilst she revises for her exams

She likes to cook but not when she is in 'revision mode'

I will be texting her to remind her to take a break

I am keeping myself busy 

throwing myself into filling my shop shelves

I have lots of ideas buzzing around in my mind

all very exciting

Hello 2012...

...this is my very first post of the new year
I am feeling excited by all the possibilities
and of a lovely, fresh new year stretching out ahead

I am still so confused with what day it is though

anyone else feel like that?

We went for a lovely walk here on Monday

(I think it was Monday?)

It was chilly but so nice to get out in the fresh air

Isn't he just magnificent?

It was getting dark by the time we left
and so beautiful with the sun setting behind the trees
I had almost forgotten what the sun looked like
It has been very grey here lately
Once home there were hot chocolates all round
yum.


Now feast your eyes on my new scarf

Isn't it incredible?
My best friend made it for me for Christmas
she is so clever
there is NO way that I could even imagine knitting something
so complicated
It must have taken hours
which makes it even more special to me

I love the little people all holding hands x
thank you so much my sweet friend
I will treasure it always

Just before I say 'toodle pip'...
...a little shop update

I have added two new cake buntings to my repertoire :o)
especially for Valentine's day
both are made with pretty pretty pretty Tilda cardstock
double sided too, so they even look pretty from behind
