soggy strawberries

Hoorah it's the weekend

While I am writing this post, it is piddling down outside
Like it has been doing mostly all week for months

I have picked lots of strawberries from the garden recently
despite to dreadful weather we have been having
but the poor little plants are looking very sad, soggy and battered now
come on summer WHERE ARE YOU?

Rain rain go away….come back another day!

Mr Sweet and I are off to the Hampton court palace flower show tomorrow
I think we may need our rain coats!

Thank you so much for popping by....I  love it that you do
and thank you too for your lovely comments on my last post
I feel a strong urge to go back there....maybe with a picnic
perhaps not in the rain.
I hope you manage to stay dry this weekend
and have a lovely one

more soon
BIG love

  3. Oh dear, I am so jealous of your foxgloves! So badly jealous I'm even ignoring the strawberries!
Like you, though, this morning I had to remind myself that it was July. What's happening here? I know we live in England and we can't expect too much but a few sunny, warm days in a row isn't too much to ask for surely!
    Happy weekend!

  4. I hope the summer weather went to Sweden.. ; )
We are going there on holiday tomorrow, that's why!
Have a lovely time at Hampton Court Palace!

  5. Yum yum strawberries my favourite! We have picked plenty from my partner's garden this year, they have still been yummy even with little sunshine! Have a good weekend xxx

  6. Gorgeous looking strawberries Jooles! Hope the rain holds off for you tomorrow! Love Hampton Court!

  8. Looks like a lovely crop of strawberries, ours has been dire this year and the chucks have had most of the good ones! Have a lovely day at Hampton Court. x

  9. Hi Jooles, I've designed and made a pair of opal earrings for my giveaway. It would be lovely if you wanted to enter. Em ♥ (your strawberries look delish!)

  10. Enjoy your strawberries and hope it stays fine for you ... Lovely weather today up north, long may it last, xxx

  11. Your strawberries look delicious :D

I hope the sun is shining on you this afternoon. It's shining on us and we want to get the dogs out for a couple of hours and we can't think of anywhere to go that won't be knee deep in mud, how crazy is that. As you say, come on summer!

  12. Yummy strawberries, we've not had that many yet, because they've probably drowned! I agree, please rain go away - I've had enough now! xx

  13. They still look lovely! I am just going to sit now in the sun, might get 5 minutes, big black clouds on the horizon, might pick some strawberries whilst I'm there! Ada :)

  14. Wow, how impressive to have such a delicious looking haul! We have some strawberry plants but no strawbs, so. Guess I can give up hope as clearly they should have done their thing by now!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  15. A fantastic batch of strawberries! I have harvested a few of ours, nowhere near as many as that though but I can vouch for the fact they were very tasty.
Hope you enjoy your visit to the Hampton court flower show and hopefully it will stop raining for your visit!

  16. The rain is getting a bit beyond a joke now....hope we get some sun soon. I hope it stayed dry for you at the flowers show too!

  17. All those from your garden, wow, what a harvest! I am hoping that I can will summer to come just by eating strawberries and summer fruits...come on summer, you are long overdue!!! x

  18. Wow your strawberries look great, you have got loads too :) We didn't get any strawberries this year, the plants flowers and started to produce some but then it all dies off, but it seemed quite common in our area so not sure whether there was some kind of infection or insects that killed them off :( never mind, there is always next year.

I'll be eager to hear about the flower show. I was going to go with my mum but we weren't to sure with the weather, especially as the tickets weren't that cheap x x x x

  19. Hi, Jooles :o) Love your pictures! Your strawberries look so yummy and healthy and your garden looks beautiful! Glad you already picked fresh berries in your garden :o)
    Have a nice day

  20. Those strawberry photos are wonderful - I can almost taste them!!!
Hope you had a nice time at the flower show!

  21. Dear Jooles,

Blogger is doing funny things to me; it is NOT telling me about your new posts which is a little frustrating especially since I missed your beautiful, magical foxglove walk. Honestly, Jooles, reading your account of this fairytale wood has brought me back to my childhood memories. Can you imagine the impact that place would have had on you when you were little? Did you every read "Little Grey Rabbit And The Weasles"? The pink foxgloves beside her woodland house would tinkle to warn her when the nasty weasels were approaching. I love foxgloves.

ps Keeping my fingers crossed Blogger will start behaving again.

  22. Ha ha - you've got soggy strawberries and I've got muddy strawberries - there's a theme emerging...
Hope you enjoyed Hampton court (am a little bit green eyed about that)!
    Emily x
