soggy strawberries

Hoorah it's the weekend
:o)

While I am writing this post, it is piddling down outside
Like it has been doing mostly all week for months

I have picked lots of strawberries from the garden recently
despite to dreadful weather we have been having
but the poor little plants are looking very sad, soggy and battered now
come on summer WHERE ARE YOU?

Rain rain go away….come back another day!

Mr Sweet and I are off to the Hampton court palace flower show tomorrow
I think we may need our rain coats!

Thank you so much for popping by....I  love it that you do
and thank you too for your lovely comments on my last post
I feel a strong urge to go back there....maybe with a picnic
perhaps not in the rain.
I hope you manage to stay dry this weekend
and have a lovely one

more soon
BIG love

  3. Oh dear, I am so jealous of your foxgloves! So badly jealous I'm even ignoring the strawberries!
Like you, though, this morning I had to remind myself that it was July. What's happening here? I know we live in England and we can't expect too much but a few sunny, warm days in a row isn't too much to ask for surely!
    Happy weekend!

  11. Your strawberries look delicious :D

I hope the sun is shining on you this afternoon. It's shining on us and we want to get the dogs out for a couple of hours and we can't think of anywhere to go that won't be knee deep in mud, how crazy is that. As you say, come on summer!

  14. Wow, how impressive to have such a delicious looking haul! We have some strawberry plants but no strawbs, so. Guess I can give up hope as clearly they should have done their thing by now!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  15. A fantastic batch of strawberries! I have harvested a few of ours, nowhere near as many as that though but I can vouch for the fact they were very tasty.
Hope you enjoy your visit to the Hampton court flower show and hopefully it will stop raining for your visit!

  18. Wow your strawberries look great, you have got loads too :) We didn't get any strawberries this year, the plants flowers and started to produce some but then it all dies off, but it seemed quite common in our area so not sure whether there was some kind of infection or insects that killed them off :( never mind, there is always next year.

I'll be eager to hear about the flower show. I was going to go with my mum but we weren't to sure with the weather, especially as the tickets weren't that cheap x x x x

  21. Dear Jooles,

Blogger is doing funny things to me; it is NOT telling me about your new posts which is a little frustrating especially since I missed your beautiful, magical foxglove walk. Honestly, Jooles, reading your account of this fairytale wood has brought me back to my childhood memories. Can you imagine the impact that place would have had on you when you were little? Did you every read "Little Grey Rabbit And The Weasles"? The pink foxgloves beside her woodland house would tinkle to warn her when the nasty weasels were approaching. I love foxgloves.

    Stephanie

ps Keeping my fingers crossed Blogger will start behaving again.
