A list of things to do

A little list to keep me focused
If I write it here, on my blog
I HAVE to complete it...right?
well that's what I am hoping anyway

To do
These are actually projects started a while back that need finishing

 ♥  Puppers needs a dress
shouldn't take too long

 ♥  Starburst crochet granny blanket
this pattern is from issue 2 of Mollie makes
I have a LOT to do on this
it has been such a long time since I last picked it up
I just hope I can remember how to do it
I am so in lve with the colours

♥  Jolly red christmas stocking tapestry
this has been on the frame.....a while!
this one is for my sweet B
lovely G's is finished
they will both need sewing up too
:o{

 ♥  pink socks
these were started way back in the summer
when I was laid up with a bad back
I needed a project that could be made whilst I was horizontal

Now for my challenges for 2012

 Learn to quilt

I was a very lucky girl on my birthday last year
my lovely craft group got together and bought me a voucher from here
Ooooh ..... how delightful
I knew exactly what I wanted to buy with it
a jelly roll

there is something so tempting about them
like pick and mix sweeties

I am hoping that by then end of the year
(I'm giving myself plenty of time!)
I should will have a beautiful quilt

♥  A make a month

I decided upon this idea at Christmas time
after a mad panic to get gifts made
I left everything far too late... stressful.

Recently I have seen some 'blog challenges'
(I think thats what they are called, I may have just made that up!)
that encourage the same idea.
although I have decided not to join one of these groups
as I think it will just put pressure on me
I will challenge myself to make at least one gift each month
weather it will be for a birthday or Christmas
A gift will be made

I have already made a good start
a special gift for my bestie is on it's way to her
it has a loooooong journey, all the way to Australia.
I can't show you until after her birthday in February
but I promise I will blog about it when I can

I have also started these hand warmers
I have an idea who might like them but of course it has to be top secret

I am knitting them in gorgeous alpaca yarn
bought for socks that didn't go well...
....unless you had tiny fairies feet that is!
anyway I thought it perfect for these

This is exciting and now that I have posted about it
I feel super motivated
I shall post my makes at the end of each month
Thank you for being my motivation

Before I go, I just wanted to let you know that my next post
is going to be very exciting
I have been asked to host a giveaway
I feel very honoured
so please pop back in a few days

I hope you are all having a jolly week

more soon

P.S I forgot to say....
I have joined the 'universal craft blog directory'
you will see a little button on my side bar
so if you have a crafty blog, why not add it to the ever growing list

  1. Hi Jooles!

Oohh, it looks like you are going to be very busy this year! Good for you setting yourself a monthly make challenge.
Look forward to seeing some of these lovely things finished, especially that lovely crochet blanket, the colours are lovely.
And as for those gorgeous Moda jelly rolls... the fabrics are wonderful - good luck with your quilting!

  3. Oooh, I can't wait to see all your finished projects and what a great idea to make a present a month. Chloe and I have visited the Eternal Maker's shop a few times. How fab you got a voucher to spend there; great choice on the jelly roll xx

  4. Ooh, jelly rolls ! I am always so tempted, but haven't given in, yet!

I'm signed up to the Felt Fairy's A Make A Month, but they can be tiny makes and I make stuff all the times so that's not too big a challenge. It's the 12 shawls in 2012 Ravelry group that has me thinking maybe I've bitten off more than I can chew. I think you might be right to go it alone on these things! Good luck. I shall watch with interest and cheer you on :D

  5. Oooohh Jooles, what a lovely post! I have lots of things to say so here goes! :-)
*Starburst granny blanket - I am in officially in love. Those colours are gorgeous and I would never have thought to pick those colours to go together, so pretty. I was gutted when I couldn't get my hands on the issue 2 of mollie makes, as I So wanted that pattern!
*The tapestry is lovely, must have taken you ages to even do just that section! Maybe you will have it finished for next Christmas. ;-)
*I LOVEEE the Eternal maker and am so loucky to live a short walk from the shop. Unlucky for my bank balance though!! Your Jellyroll is beautiful, I happen to think so as I have the same fabric! But in layer cake form. You can definitely get to grips with quilting, your an amazing sewer and will find it easy! I've been sewing patchwork squares today and just could Not get them to match up! So annoying.
*The making a present every month thing is Such a good idea, I was so unorganised last year and left it all far to late!!
*Really like the handwarmers- whoever receives them is one lucky person..!

Right, I'm sorry to go on... speaking of present making, I'm off to go and try and finish my cousins birthday present now!

  7. Hi Jooles, you've certainly set yourself some lovely target finishes - keep us posted on progress. I've been tempted by blog challenges but can't always commit the time they need - wish I could.
Glad to hear you're going to quilt, look forward to seeing it come together.

  8. Great idea re the monthly make - it's good to have a target like that. I too am trying to finish off older projects before I start new things - I get a bit panicky if I think I've got too many things on the go at once! I'm also trying to be a bit more considered before I start projects - I usually jump in with both feet before I've properly thought it through.
Love the colours of your sunburst blanket - it's going to be beautiful - which yarn are you using?
    Have a great weekend x
